Back when I was a broke college kid, a guitar player offered to pay me 100 bucks to show him how to use a home studio software.
Now, I was no expert, but I’d been recording my own songs at home for a while, so I knew how to use the software a lot better than he did.
(This is me and my Dad working in our home studio, and being broke because I spent all my money on music gear.)
And that’s when I realized not only could I get paid for what I know, but I didn’t have to really know much!
So I started a side hustle where I charged 50 bucks an hour to get on a zoom call and show people how to use their home studio software. And I paid my way through college just doing that. No job.
I was hooked. Over the next several years, I dabbled in selling advice in some way or another, but never really made a serious business out of it.
That was until the day I stupidly invested every penny I had into something that I thought would blow up, but I lost every last cent…

I felt like a total deadbeat husband for accepting her offer, but I’m glad I did because six months later, was the last time my wife had to work, and she NEVER had to work a day in her life since…
